About the Role

As the Infrastructure Finance Analyst, you’ll contribute to xAI’s corporate finance strategy by supporting operational KPI modeling to drive our rapid growth. This role requires a sharp, detail-oriented finance professional who can develop robust financial models for a pioneering AI company. Based in the Bay Area, you’ll be a key member of our dynamic finance team, helping to strengthen the financial foundation that fuels our innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with xAI’s technical team to generate insights on compute and storage investments and commercial deals.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to monitor resource usage, track utilization, and identify inefficiencies across teams, users, and workloads.
  • Support regular audits of workloads to identify idle instances or over-provisioned resources.
  • Assist in analyzing cloud provider contracts, focusing on cost optimization while aligning with business needs. Provide input on financial terms such as contract duration, commitment, and reserved vs. on-demand instances.
  • Monitor storage requirements across the business and contribute recommendations for balancing speed, availability, and cost.
  • Work with the go-to-market team to analyze strategic customer deals, assessing margin profiles under various performance scenarios and supporting financial alignment for xAI and customers.
  • Analyze financial implications of hardware configurations for compute and inference clusters, creating models to clarify tradeoffs for business leaders.
  • Stay informed on infrastructure optimization best practices, contributing ideas to improve power usage, compute costs, cooling efficiency, and network bandwidth costs.
  • Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership to support impactful decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure finance or related financial modeling roles.
  • Experience with public cloud financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling for owned compute clusters.
  • Strong skills in financial modeling are essential.
  • A proactive performer who excels in fast-paced environments, with a focus on accuracy and adaptability.
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of delivering reliable results under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex financial data clearly to varied stakeholders.

Annual Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 USD
