In this pivotal role, you will drive operational excellence, maintain global policies, processes, and workflows, and ensure our People Operations initiatives align strategically with the broader organizational goals.

You will work closely with the Manager of People Operations and other key stakeholders to implement best practices, streamline processes, and leverage technology to enhance our People Operations.

What you bring

  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and leading complex, high-impact projects, with a strong understanding of automation and AI.
  • Strong understanding of people policies, processes, and workflows, with a focus on compliance and scalability throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights, including creating dashboards and reports to streamline HR processes and gain efficiencies.
  • Knowledge and experience in tracking, reporting, and overseeing HRIS data and people metrics.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology, including HRIS, data analytics tools, and automation platforms.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a senior liaison and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
  • High sense of urgency and accuracy, with proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a growth mindset, driving personal performance and development.
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrating and leading the team towards high performance
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when needed to support global operations.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in a global or multinational organization is highly desirable.
  • Remote work experience is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Focus on Operational Excellence:

  • Responsible for all critical People Operations tasks including, and not limited to: Onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle changes, approving contractor invoices, relocation, data integrity on the Remote platform, and employee queries across all people topics.
  • Maintain a strong focus on urgency and proactively communicate timelines leading enterprise level projects that impact the employee experience to ensure all requests are completed within the expected deadlines.
  • Act as a senior liaison with other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless people processes, improve collaboration and provide an extraordinary employee experience. Our stakeholder teams across the business include, and not limited to: Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Lifecycle, Mobility, Customer Experience, IT, SupplyOps, Engineering, Product, and the wider People team.
  • Define and implement best practices for operational excellence, setting a high standard for the team and across the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead knowledge sharing, training, and up-skilling initiatives to enhance team capabilities.

Maintain Global Policies, Processes, and Workflows:

  • Set the standard for our people policies, processes, and workflows to enhance our work environment, help us scale, and comply with legal requirements.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for process improvements and operational innovation.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance our people service delivery and employee experience.
  • Act as an expert advisor and partner for the successful implementation of people programs and policies, ensuring that Remote is equipped and enabled across the organization.

Drive Strategic Goals:

  • Lead the setting of quarterly goals for People Operations, ensuring that the team’s efforts contribute to the broader organizational strategic objectives.
  • Lead complex and high-impact goals that have a broad reach across the organization.

Scale People Operations with Technology, Data & Analytics:

  • Champion the adoption and optimization of the Remote platform and other technologies to streamline processes, improve scalability, and enhance data integrity.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and insights that contribute to informed decision-making and strategy development.
  • Identify and implement scaling strategies (such as automation, integration, AI, and other technologies) to innovate and remove manual and repetitive operational tasks.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the expert in establishing and maintaining clear, concise People Operations documentation for the organization
  • Serve as an subject matter escalation point for complicated queries for peers within the People Operations team.
  • Participate in People team meetings and updates to the rest of Remote in all places necessary.
  • Escalate any concerns, urgent matters, or employment relations-related concerns to the appropriate managerial level.
  • Fulfill all People Operations responsibilities and tasks expected at the Associate and Specialist levels, ensuring comprehensive support and coverage within the team as needed.

At first glance our salary bands seem quite wide - here is some context. At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce. We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $36000USD - $80,000USD. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
