What you bring
- Tax professional with a lot of experience and proven performance, mainly tax compliance environment.
- Prior experience with international taxation and financial operations.
- Knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns.
- Experience with a Fintech or start up company.
- Negotiation and influencing skills.
- Data driven communicator.
- Professional experience working with large data sets.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced, hyper growth environment.
- Writes and speaks fluent English. French and Spanish considered a plus.
- It's not required to have experience working remotely, but considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the Direct Tax Compliance team:
- Provide guidance and direction to the team, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of deliverables;
- Review and approve the work performed by team members, providing guidance and feedback;
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss ongoing projects, address any issues or challenges, updates or changes that may impact the team’s work;
- Tax Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely tax filings (including Remote's income tax returns, withholding taxes, and any other direct tax returns);
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants, as necessary, to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with local tax laws;
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements;
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to identify and mitigate any potential compliance risks;
- Assess impact of changes in international tax laws and regulations on the company;
- Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement tax planning strategies with the tax team to optimize the company's global effective tax rate.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders: Work closely with various departments, including Legal, Finance, Treasury, and International Operations, to ensure cross-functional collaboration and alignment on tax-related matters;
- Fostering relationships with external partners and staying informed about industry trends:
- Cultivate relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and industry peers to leverage their expertise and stay informed about global tax developments;
- Attend conferences, seminars, and training programs to enhance knowledge and understanding of evolving tax regulations and strategies
- Assess on local tax exposures in the different countries upon the ongoing
- Help the team with any tax question arising from clients
- Work with the treasury department at determining the fund flow that will allow the tax efficiency in current countries
- Build documentation resources to address recurring and potential customer questions around tax

The base salary range for this full-time position is $$$ to $$$. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
