Your work will change lives. Including your own.

The Impact You’ll Make

Recursion is at the forefront of reimagining drug discovery through the integration of automated cell biology, high-dimensional and diverse data sets, and sophisticated analytics. We are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Clerk that will be part of a finance team that seeks to be world class in all of its filings and in providing the company with up-to-date financial information to inform executive and board decisions. On a daily basis, you will draw upon basic accounting principles to process the transactions quickly and accurately to become the first step in the above goal. You’ll be responsible for making coding and entity decisions for each invoice, credit card, and reimbursement. You will reach out to other members of Recursion for approvals and clarification. You will learn our new Jaggaer software for processing all of the PO and purchase contract invoices. You will become an expert in our ERP System, Microsoft Navision, and may be involved in changing to a new system in the next year or two. You will work with other clerks to meet month end close deadlines and weekly payment journal deadlines. You can expect to work on multiple deadlines at the same time in a fast paced and exciting environment. An example of recent changes are the opening of an office in the UK or changing our operating model. All cash transactions in the company go through our team in some way. In this role, you will:

  • Be an essential member of the Finance Team reporting directly to the Accounting Manager and work directly with other accounting clerks and members of the finance team.
  • You will leverage the depth and breadth of your accounting knowledge to help industrialize our existing accounts payable function during a time of exponential growth, post IPO.
  • You will also rely on your interpersonal skills to effectively work cross-functionally across the organization.
  • You will need self-initiative, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to transparently communicate with organization team members at all levels.

Location:

Join us at our HQ located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Relocation is available for candidates not local to the area.

The Team You’ll Join

The Finance team is a fun, tightly-knit group. We work hard but call ourselves the Funance Team. Our Finance team is world class and the transaction team is part of that. You will be part of weekly team meetings that can include the CFO, the VP of Finance and Accounting, and all other finance team members. The transaction team works together to ensure that all transactions are timely and accurate and speak to the audited financial statements. We meet monthly close deadlines. We process all invoices, employee expenses, manage credit cards, and assist with financial audits.

The Experience You’ll Need

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Overall accounts payable and credit card expense experience of 5 years.
  • Experience in processing invoices in an ERP system.
  • Experience in either Microsoft NAV and Jaggaer platform is helpful.
  • Experience in setting up journals for approval and payment.
  • Experience understanding strategic finance team goals and supporting others on the team to meet those monthly, quarterly, and year end goals.

How You’ll be Supported

  • There are weekly Finance team meetings in order to learn what the entire team is working on and what the priorities are. The VP of Finance, Controller, and occasionally even the CFO attend this meeting.
  • There will be 1:1’s with our direct supervisor, the Accounting Manager, weekly. There will be skip-levels with the assistant controller periodically but at least once a quarter.
  • Other clerks will train with you for the first 90 days to ensure a quick ramp up but at least one of them will be available for a longer period of time and questions are always welcome.
  • There are quarterly off-site events so that you will get to know your team better.
