Accounts Payable Manager

The Opportunity
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Manager with experience supervising colleagues, providing guidance, and ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations. Reporting to the Associate Director of Accounting, you will oversee full-cycle accounts payable, maintain full compliance with company policies, and collaborate with teams of scientists, engineers, and operational staff. You will also optimize accounts payable processes within Oracle and lead automation improvements to refine workflows, supporting the scalability required for our rapid growth.
This role is based in South San Francisco, with a hybrid approach of at least 3 days per week in the office and the option for the other 1-2 days from home.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable, including timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, payments, reconciliations and process documentation
- Drive process improvement by leading projects to implement automation and increase productivity and efficiency
- Manage the corporate credit card program, including new card requests, card account reconciliations, and card administration
- Manage corporate travel platform, including user account maintenance, policy adherence and exception approvals, and reporting
- Manage quarterly use tax filings and 1099 year end filings in compliance with all state tax and IRS regulations, respectively
- Manage monthly accounts payable close including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with financial audit requests and other ad-hoc requests and tasks as assigned
About You
- Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of relevant work experience preferably in biotech
- Accounting ERP system experience, preferably in Oracle Cloud or similar
- Intermediate Excel skills and ability to work in G-Suite
- Detail-focused, ensuring accuracy in organizing and analyzing data
- Customer service oriented, can resolve issues through effective verbal and written communication
Compensation & Benefits at insitro
Our target starting salary for successful US-based applicants for this role is $120,000 - $135,000. To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-related factors including a candidate's skills, education and experience, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. We may also adjust this range in the future based on market data.
This role is eligible for participation in our Annual Performance Bonus Plan (based on company targets by role level and annual company performance) and our Equity Incentive Plan, subject to the terms of those plans and associated policies.
