The Opportunity

The heart of insitro's strategy is the combination of novel, cutting edge methods in machine learning, biology at scale and small molecule discovery that address key bottlenecks in the drug development pipeline. To accomplish that, we are putting together an incredible team of translational scientists who want to make a difference to this important problem. We are seeking an enthusiastic, curious and driven individual for the role of Scientist in Protein Sciences, within Drug Discovery department. In this scientific role, you will help to purify and develop Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs) for targeted cancer therapy. This is a lab-based role with an expectation to be onsite in South San Francisco 5 days/week. You will report to the Associate Director, Protein Sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments for the expression and purification of recombinant protein antigens and antibodies using several host systems (e.g., bacterial, yeast, and mammalian cells).
  • Advance the development and optimization of Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs) for targeted cancer therapy.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including oncology, target discovery, chemistry and machine learning, to advance ADC projects from concept to preclinical stages.
  • Contribute to the advancement of ADC discovery, using experimental and machine learning driven approaches.
  • As a vital member of a growing biotech startup, contribute to the scientific vision and strategic direction of ADC research, shaping our impact in cancer therapy.

About You

  • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences) with a focus on protein sciences, antibody engineering, bioconjugation, or related fields and 0-3+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of ADCs, and with protein expression and purification
  • Proficient in analytical techniques relevant to ADCs, such as HPLC, mass spectrometry, ELISA and SPR or BLI

About insitro
insitro is a drug discovery and development company using machine learning (ML) and data at scale to decode biology for transformative medicines. At the core of insitro’s approach is the convergence of in-house generated multi-modal cellular data and high-content phenotypic human cohort data. We rely on these data to develop ML-driven, predictive disease models that uncover underlying biologic state and elucidate critical drivers of disease. These powerful models rely on extensive biological and computational infrastructure and allow insitro to advance novel targets and patient biomarkers, design therapeutics and inform clinical strategy. insitro is advancing a wholly owned and partnered pipeline of insights and therapeutics in neuroscience, oncology and metabolism. Since launching in 2018, insitro has raised over $700 million from top tech, biotech and crossover investors, and from collaborations with pharmaceutical partners.
