The Opportunity

As an Associate Scientist in the Bioassays, Arrayed Screening, and insitro Cell Models group at our South San Francisco office, you will be supporting drug discovery and development at insitro. Reporting to the Associate Director, Assay Management, you will contribute to biochemical and cell-based bioassay development as part of our diverse portfolio of therapeutic areas including neurological and metabolic disorders. Additionally, you will assist in the logistics of drug discovery by supporting our compound management function. You will work with a diverse team biologists, bioengineers, machine learning and data scientists and who have a passion for making a difference!

Responsibilities

  • Perform plate-based biochemical and cell-based assays
  • Help generate tool cell lines
  • Maintain cultures of immortalized and primary cell lines
  • Assist compound management with compound registration, inventory, and preparation of assay-ready plates

About You

  • B.S or M.S in biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, or other relevant field, with at least two (2) years post-graduate experience
  • Experience performing end-point and image-based assays in 96- and 384-well plate formats
  • Wide range of molecular biology skills, such as cloning, gene editing, transgene expression, stable cell line generation, qPCR
  • Strong aseptic technique for culture of immortalized and primary cells
  • Experience handling a variety of chemical matter including small molecules and siRNA
  • Familiarity with automated liquid handlers, e.g. Echo, Hamilton, Bravo, and Tecan
  • Familiarity with GraphPad Prism, Spotfire, Benchling, Signals, Python, and R

Compensation & Benefits at insitro

Our target starting salary for successful US-based applicants for this role is $70,000 to $100,000 per year. To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-related factors including a candidate's skills, education and experience, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. We may also adjust this range in the future based on market data.

This role is eligible for participation in our Annual Performance Bonus Plan (based on company targets by role level and annual company performance) and our Equity Incentive Plan, subject to the terms of those plans and associated policies.
