We are currently on the lookout for an Associate Scientist III / Scientist I, who possesses expertise in histology and microscopy, to become a part of our Research Operations team. In this capacity, you will work in collaboration with scientific and project colleagues to design and implement histology and microscopy workflows, analyze data, and enhance assays for our drug discovery initiatives.

Responsibilities
Perform tissue sectioning and preparation for histological analysis
Run and maintain histology and microscopy equipment
Optimize and validate antibodies and staining protocols
Prepare and analyze data generated from histological experiments
Develop and optimize assays for target identification and validation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support drug development projects
Maintain accurate documentation of experiments and follow laboratory safety protocols
About You
PhD with 1 year of experience or BS/MS with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, or a relevant scientific field, with experience in histology sample preparation, data acquisition and analysis
History of validating antibodies for use in immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunocytochemistry (ICC), western blot (WB) or flow cytometry (FC)
Experience in developing and executing cellular assays using microscopy and advanced imaging techniques
Familiarity with coordination and shared documentation tools (Gsuite, Slack, Smartsheets)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Nice to Have
Experience and knowledge of cancer phenotypes
Proficiency in analysis scripts (Python, R) and collaborative platforms (Benchling or Jupyter notebooks)
Experience with sample and library preparation for genomics workflows
Experience with flow cytometry
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) multiplexed primary probe design
Compensation & Benefits at insitro
Our target starting salary for successful US-based applicants for this role is $100,000 - $135,000. To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education and experience, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. We may also adjust this range in the future based on market data.
This role is eligible for participation in our Annual Performance Bonus Plan (based on company targets by role level and annual company performance) and our Equity Incentive Plan, subject to the terms of those plans and associated policies.
