Your Mission

Boundless is seeking a highly strategic, hands-on, and globally-minded Director, Talent & Culture to join our team. This is a pivotal leadership role that will be instrumental in designing, building, and scaling our talent functions. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the employee experience across our diverse global workforce, with a focus on our operations in the Philippines, our US team, including our headquarters in Seattle, and future global expansion locations.

This role is ideal for a builder and an independent thinker who thrives in a dynamic environment, combining strategic foresight with a pragmatic, results-oriented approach. You will lead a small but mighty team, while also acting as an individual contributor and a key strategic partner to leadership. Your impact will be measured by your ability to implement thoughtful, data-driven talent initiatives that foster a thriving and high-performing culture.

What You'll Do:

As our Director,Talent & Culture, you will be responsible for defining and executing our talent strategy across the entire global employee lifecycle. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Leadership & Ground-Up Build:
    • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive talent and culture strategies that align with our business objectives and values.
    • Take a "builder's mentality" to establish new processes, structures, tooling, and investment strategies across all talent functions, often from scratch.
    • Act as a key strategic partner to executive leadership on all matters related to talent, organizational development, and cultural initiatives.
  • Talent Acquisition:
    • Oversee and optimize the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring an exceptional candidate experience across all regions, with a mix between our medium-volume hiring in the Philippines and high-touch hiring in the US.
    • Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies, employer branding initiatives, and robust interview processes to attract top talent globally.
    • Establish and track key recruitment metrics to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Onboarding & Integration:
    • Design and implement thoughtful, impactful, and globally consistent onboarding programs that ensure new hires are successfully integrated into the company culture and quickly become productive.
    • Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of onboarding, including new hire retention and time-to-proficiency.
    • Develop programming directed at new employees learning our business.
  • Talent Development & Learning & Development (L&D):
    • Create and execute strategies for talent development, including performance management frameworks, career pathing, succession planning, and leadership development programs.
    • Identify critical skill gaps and design scalable L&D initiatives that foster continuous learning and professional growth for all employees, tailoring content and delivery methods for our diverse global workforce.
    • Implement systems and processes to track employee development and measure the ROI of L&D initiatives.
  • Internal Mobility:
    • Develop clear pathways and programs for internal career progression, fostering a culture of growth and retention.
    • Facilitate cross-functional and cross-regional internal movements, ensuring fair and transparent processes.
  • Metrics & Analytics Excellence:
    • Champion a data-driven approach to all talent functions, defining, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on key HR metrics and analytics.
    • Use insights from data to identify trends, inform strategic decisions, and demonstrate the impact of talent initiatives on business outcomes.
  • Global People Leadership:
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of talent professionals, with direct responsibility for reports based in the Philippines and the US.
    • Ensure talent programs and processes are culturally sensitive, legally compliant, and effective across diverse global contexts (US and Philippines).
    • Partner closely with local leadership in the Philippines to understand unique talent needs and opportunities.
  • Agility & Long-Term Planning:
    • Demonstrate the ability to act quickly and effectively in "triage" situations, addressing immediate talent needs and challenges.
    • Simultaneously develop and execute mid-term and long-term talent strategies that anticipate future organizational needs and market shifts.
  • Cultural Stewardship:
    • Act as a steward of our company culture, ensuring our values are embedded throughout all talent practices and programs.
    • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of progressive HR/Talent experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
    • Proven experience in building out talent functions (e.g., talent acquisition, L&D, talent management) from the ground up or significantly scaling existing programs.
    • Experience managing talent functions across multiple geographies, with specific expertise and understanding of the talent landscape and cultural nuances.
    • Demonstrated success in leveraging data and analytics to drive talent strategies and measure impact.
    • Experience managing and developing a team, including remote or internationally distributed direct reports.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a bias for action.
    • Highly analytical, with the ability to define metrics, interpret data, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
    • Proven ability to navigate and thrive in ambiguous, ever-changing environments.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and deliver results.
    • Deep understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance, particularly in the US and Philippines.

Compensation

Compensation for this role includes both cash and equity. The starting base salary for this position is typically $156,000-$202,000. Total compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
